      FAQ:

Q: If I use your ink for gyo-taku (fish printing), can I eat the fish afterward?

A: We do not recommend or make any claim that fish would be safe to consume after using our ink for gyo-taku.

However, our sumi inks have the AP non-toxic seal per the ACMI’s Toxicological Advisory Board, which certifies that our art materials are safe and certified in a toxicological evaluation by a board-certified toxicologist to contain no materials in sufficient quantities to be toxic or injurious to humans, including children, or to cause acute of chronic health problems.

    • KV2 – Vermilion Liquid Sumi Ink (2 oz)

KV2 – 2 Oz Vermilion Liquid Sumi Ink

Yasutomo vermilion ink is a rich, warm, red-orange color.

It is traditionally used in hand-lettered manuscripts, seals, and ink paintings. It is also commonly used in Asia by calligraphy instructors to correct students’ work.

This water-resistant ink is opaque and dries to a permanent matte finish.

Use directly from the bottle for dip pen calligraphy and brush painting. Mix with black ink to create a rich brown or warm black calligraphy ink.

      Conforms to ASTM D-4236.

      * Pro Tip * When used on washi (rice paper), expect the ink to soak in and spread into the absorbent paper. If you are using the ink for Western-style lettering on sized paper, add gum arabic. This will greatly reduce bleeding and fuzzy letters.
