This small double ended bamboo sketching pen provides two tips for ink drawing.
One end has a split tip and a hole to allow for continuous and even ink flow. Dip the pen in ink and use it for drawing and writing.
The other end can be used for scratching and mark making.
Each piece is hand carved from bamboo into a shape perfect for ink line drawing. After use, wipe the pen tip with a damp cloth.
Designed to be used with liquid Sumi-ink.

About All Purpose Brushes:
Because of their sharp tips and firm bodies, the all purpose brushes perform various strokes well while still being flexible enough for shading and contouring. Highly recommended for watercolor work. Made from a blend of natural and synthetic hairs. Handles are approximately 7 1/2” long and have a loop for hanging.

The 3 piece Bamboo Sumi Brush set includes one brush each: CC1, CC3 and CC5.
These popular brushes have a stiff core that is well suited to multipurpose ink and gansai painting, or when you want to have a bit of “spring” to the brush. Made with a blend of natural and synthetic hair which gives a crisp touch. Bamboo handle. Each comes with a convenient loop for hanging.
Use the tip for fine lines. Use the body of the brush for broad lines. These brushes will hold their shape as you manipulate them, giving you a multitude of brush shapes in a single brush!
Unlike watercolor, oil and most other paintbrushes, sumi brushes are composed of two separate parts. The central core, which determines the height and basic function of the brush, is made of relatively stiff hairs gathered to form a tapered point. The outer wrapping consists of softer hairs which are selected for their greater water-holding capacity and for facilitating smooth strokes. The hairs of the inner core and of the outer wrapping are the same length and come to a point when dipped into water. The hair structure ensures smooth maneuverability and dynamic strokes whether light or heavy pressure is applied.
