      Q: If I use your ink for gyo-taku (fish printing), can I eat the fish afterward?

      A: We do not recommend or make any claim that fish would be safe to consume after using our ink for gyo-taku.

      However, our sumi inks have the AP non-toxic seal per the ACMI’s Toxicological Advisory Board, which certifies that our art materials are safe and certified in a toxicological evaluation by a board-certified toxicologist to contain no materials in sufficient quantities to be toxic or injurious to humans, including children, or to cause acute of chronic health problems.

      This pre-mixed, permanent ink is made from the same high-quality soot as our sumi ink sticks. The bottle opening is wide enough to load ink for most brushes, and its cap conveniently doubles as a brush rest. Dries with a slight sheen and absorbs into paper slightly. When dried, KF series ink is more water-resistant that the KY series, which allows for unique glazing capabilities.
