CG18 – Traditional Chinese Ink, Golden Black
CG18 – Traditional Chinese Ink, Golden Black
CG18 is a dense black ink with golden powder suspension. The black outlines gold on rice paper; the effect is more subtle
on sized papers. Specifically made for Chinese art techniques, but suitable for all ink work, painting, drawing and calligraphy. Fade-resistant and water re-soluble. Chinese inks produce slightly cooler tones than Japanese inks. Convenient lid design with an easy pour cap allows for more control and fewer spills. Bottle contains 180 ml (approximately 6.1 oz) ink, and comes boxed.
Dimensions: 2 7/32” x 1 1/2” x 5 15/16”
Weight: 8.2 oz
Usage tips:
- For best use, shake well and vigorously before pouring the ink out of the bottle. You should hear the mixing balls shaking inside of the bottle; these disperse the metallic pigment throughout the ink.
- Expires 5 years from their production date. Bottle has a sticker with the expiration date on the bottom.
- Use on absorbent washi (rice papers) for strongest metallic effect.

CM18 – Traditional Chinese Ink, Ultra Black
CM18 – Traditional Chinese Ink, Ultra Black
CM18 is a very dense black, water resistant ink that contains almost double the pigment of CY18. It creates unique tones when thinned with water and works on porous and less porous papers, including metallics. Specifically made for Chinese art techniques, but suitable for all ink work, painting, drawing and calligraphy. Fade-resistant and water re-soluble. Chinese inks produce slightly cooler tones than Japanese inks. Bottle contains 180 ml (approximately 6.1 oz) ink, and comes boxed.
The unique adhesive formulation of these inks allows for increased stability but they will reconstitute in water. When these inks dry on absorbent papers, they can be wet mounted (i.e. water-based adhesive is used to bond the artwork to the mounting surface without bleeding or smearing).
Mixes with Chinese watercolors for interesting effects. Convenient lid design with an easy pour cap allows for more control and fewer spills.
Because this is a pigment ink, not a dye ink, it should not be used in refillable pens. These inks are not acrylic inks nor are there any acrylic properties or ingredients in them.
Expires 5 years from their production date. Bottle has a sticker with the expiration date on the bottom.
Dimensions: 2 7/32” x 1 1/2” x 5 15/16”
Weight: 8.1 oz

Q: If I use your ink for gyo-taku (fish printing), can I eat the fish afterward?
A: We do not recommend or make any claim that fish would be safe to consume after using our ink for gyo-taku.

KV2 – Vermilion Liquid Sumi Ink (2 oz)
KV2 – 2 Oz Vermilion Liquid Sumi Ink
Yasutomo vermilion ink is a rich, warm, red-orange color.
It is traditionally used in hand-lettered manuscripts, seals, and ink paintings. It is also commonly used in Asia by calligraphy instructors to correct students’ work.
This water-resistant ink is opaque and dries to a permanent matte finish.
Use directly from the bottle for dip pen calligraphy and brush painting. Mix with black ink to create a rich brown or warm black calligraphy ink.
Conforms to ASTM D-4236.
* Pro Tip * When used on washi (rice paper), expect the ink to soak in and spread into the absorbent paper. If you are using the ink for Western-style lettering on sized paper, add gum arabic. This will greatly reduce bleeding and fuzzy letters.
