Mashi Hosho paper

Double Layered Japanese Washi Paper

Mashi is fused with Hosho paper to create a thick, sturdy, two-layered paper that does not wrinkle or bleed through.

Mashi Hosho is made in Echizen, located within the Fukui prefecture in Japan. Smooth Mashi is fused with sturdy Hosho on the back side, producing a thick, sturdy paper that accepts mediums beautifully on both sides. This paper does not wrinkle or bleed through. Unbleached. Sized to allow for fine detail in ink and color. Not acid-free. Excellent for card stock.

Uses: Gansai watercolors, calligraphy, sumi painting, ink work, Western watercolors, pencil, acrylic paint, gouache, stamping, block printing and more.

Mineral Paper Art Boards

Mineral Paper Art Boards (JMPB3) are made with 150 gsm Mineral Paper, mounted to a hard backing board to provide a unique, sturdy substrate that will not stretch, tear or warp.

Great for sketching, painting, monoprinting, stenciling, rubber stamping, cartooning, finger painting.

Use with watercolor, gouache, silverpoint, colored pencils, charcoal, pastels, alcohol ink, acrylics, pen & ink, markers.

Suminagashi is the Japanese art of water marbling in which liquid sumi ink is dropped onto water to create beautiful marbled patterns, then prints are pulled on washi paper.
