Great on black paper, watercolor paper, washi paper, shikishi boards, and cardstock. Works on non-porous surfaces, too!
Use with natural and synthetic brushes and dip pens.
Comes boxed. Ink is in 2 oz bottles with a dropper spout for a clean pour. Shake well before use.
Available in 7 metallic colors plus matte white.
Conforms to ASTM D-4236.
Tip: For best use, shake well and vigorously before pouring the ink out of the bottle. You should hear the mixing balls shaking inside of the bottle; these disperse the metallic pigment throughout the ink.

CM18 is a very dense black, water resistant ink that contains almost double the pigment of CY18. It creates unique tones when thinned with water and works on porous and less porous papers, including metallics. Specifically made for Chinese art techniques, but suitable for all ink work, painting, drawing and calligraphy. Fade-resistant and water re-soluble. Chinese inks produce slightly cooler tones than Japanese inks. Bottle contains 180 ml (approximately 6.1 oz) ink. Comes boxed.
The unique adhesive formulation of these inks allows for increased stability but they will reconstitute in water. When these inks dry on absorbent papers, they can be wet mounted (i.e. water-based adhesive is used to bond the artwork to the mounting surface without bleeding or smearing).
Mixes with Chinese watercolors for interesting effects. Convenient lid design with an easy pour cap allows for more control and fewer spills.
Because this is a pigment ink, not a dye ink, it should not be used in refillable pens. These inks are not acrylic inks nor are there any acrylic properties or ingredients in them.

These authentic Chinese watercolors are made from finely ground pigments and offer a smooth consistency. They can be used full strength or thinned with water. They are water resistant after drying when wet mounting on absorbent paper, yet fully water soluble like a traditional watercolor. Mixes easily with both Chinese and Japanese inks. Some colors in this set are semi-transparent while some are opaque.
Although these paints are designed for traditional Chinese painting techniques, they can be mixed with other watercolors to achieve interesting color combinations. These watercolors can be fully reworked like any watercolor but it takes slightly longer due to the binder. It is their strong, almost glue-like binder that enables them to stand up to many traditional Chinese painting techniques. Finished pieces can also withstand wet mounting. Water-soluble and non-toxic. Offers superior lightfastness. 12-piece set includes 12ml (.04 oz.) tubes of Burnt Sienna, Scarlet, Gamboge, Chinese White, Vermilion, Cinnabar, Rouge, Carmine Red, Light Green, Light Blue, Phthalo Blue and Indigo.
