Gyotaku is a traditional Japanese art that translates to “fish rubbing.”
Japanese fishers used to record the size of their catch by painting the fish with sumi ink then rubbing washi paper on top to pick up the print, capturing a detailed, life-sized record of their fish!
Today you can use a real fish, replica, leaf, flower, or any other flat, textured object to make beautiful prints.
Kit includes:
