Mitsumata is a strong, smooth, warm-toned paper made primarily from the short-fibered mitsumata plant, prized for its insect-repellant properties. Historically used for currency. One side of the paper is smooth and the other side is slightly rough. Create on the smooth side for best results.

Mashi Hosho is made in Echizen, located within the Fukui prefecture in Japan. Smooth Mashi is fused with sturdy Hosho on the back side, producing a thick, sturdy paper that accepts mediums beautifully on both sides. This paper does not wrinkle or bleed through. Unbleached. Sized to allow for fine detail in ink and color. Not acid-free. Excellent for card stock.
